K-4 News Spring

Spring is finally here! Atleast that is what is what the calendar and my allergies are telling me.

Time is going by so quickly. There is so much that we plan to accomplish. We have begun putting words together and reading simple books. In Math we are learning to recognize the penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, dollar, and five dollar bill.

This Friday, April 11, 2008 the children will be doing a HOP-A-THON to raise money for Jerry's Kids MDA. Please feel free to sponsor a child.

That is a brief summary of what we are doing this month. Let me hear from you!

Be Blessed!
Ms. Hunter

K-4 News February

February is the month for Love, Dental Health, Healthy Heart Awareness, Presidents Day, and African American History. That is quite alot to pack into one month, oh well some way we will do our best to get it all done.

We will finish up the alphabet by the end of this month or by the end of the first week in March. Please keep reviewing the letters and sounds at home.

In Math we have begun to discuss the clock and telling time to the hour. Please review numbers 1-12 so that they can recognize the numbers on the clock.

Our Valentine party will be Thurs. 2/14/08. Please send a bag of candy (for goody bags) valentine cards for each student in our class. There are 12 students. I will send a class list home. If you would like to provide cookies or juice please let me know as soon as possible.

Have a great month! Feel free to make comments I would really appreciate the feedback.

Sincerely,
Ms.Hunter

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Welcome back! I hope that everyone enjoyed the break as much as did. Now it is full steam ahead.

This week, we will focus on the letter Pp and its phonemic sound, and numbers 12-15. There will be a lot of games that we will play to help emphasize letter and number recognition as well as counting skills. the children really like to play the various games. They have fun and they are learning at the same time.

The elective this nine weeks is computers. Ms.Tutt is our technology teacher and she is wonderful.

Report cards went home last Thurs. 1/4/08. If you did not receive your child's please let me know or contact the office. If you have received your child's card please make sure that you sign it and return it as soon as possible! Thank you. HAVE A GREAT WEEK ! Ms. Hunter
